Lead Minister

Before coming to Armour Heights in 2017, Harris served congregations in Toronto and Quebec. Harris loves the creative process of preparing the kind of worship that moves the heart and stretches the intellect and imagination. He is passionate about adult education and spiritual formation, and engaging congregations in the larger outreach work of justice and care for the most vulnerable. Harris is also a pastor at heart who receives as much if not more from compassionate listening and attentive caring than he can ever give. In his free time, Harris loves to spend time with family, reading serious theology and exciting novels, play with his dog Hektor, and practice martial arts.

Children and Youth Coordinator

Won Hwang believes that faithful ministry starts with learning and living out the Word of God. To that end, he has pursued biblical training through a Master of Divinity, Master of Theology, and doctoral studies. Won has a deep passion for children, youth, and families—helping them experience God's care for them, their families, and their circumstances, and helping them respond by caring for their neighbours and all of God's creation. Won lives out this passion through creative programs, engaging teaching, and prayerful care. Won and his wife, Sun, have three sons—Jeong, Luke, and Jiwoo—and as a family they love sharing meals, watching movies, playing tennis, and simply spending time together.

Music Director

Bruce Nasmith is a composer, music director, session player, educator, arranger and freelance multi-instrumentalist musician.  His love of sacred music dates back to his choir participation in liturgical churches since boyhood. He has been the Music Director at Armour Heights Presbyterian Church since returning from Australia in 1991.  Previously, Bruce was employed as a Lecturer in Music by the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts from 1987 until 1991.  He also taught piano for the Royal Conservatory of Music, University of Toronto, from 1980 until 1984 before going freelance.  Bruce is also the Music Director, arranger, keyboardist and one of the singer/guitarists for www.onesshow.com which has been performing across Canada and the USA since 2015 culminating in an 8 show sold out run at the Princess of Wales Theatre in Toronto July 28th to August 2nd, 2026. Bruce has composed film music, songs and numerous instrumental and choral works.  On 12/12/12, he gave an album launch concert at Armour Heights P.C. debuting his twelve impressionist compositions for classical guitar which are called "The Twelve Months".  This album is available on iTunes and hard copies are also available on CD.  In December 2025 Bruce also became the lead singer of The Chicago Project, a band devoted to the music of the band Chicago. Bruce is also an experienced adjudicator and while in Australia adjudicated the Busselton Music Festival in Western Australia in 1987, 1988, and 1989.  He has also been an adjudicator for the Pickering Rotary Music Festival in past years.  His passion and enthusiasm are infectious and Bruce has inspired and continues to inspire and encourage blossoming musicians. 

Administrative Assistant

Before joining the Armour Heights team, Joan spent more than 30 years working in theological libraries. She holds both a Master of Arts in Theological Studies and a Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) and served for 16 years as Director of Library Services at Caven Library, Knox College, within the Toronto School of Theology at the University of Toronto.

Looking for a meaningful way to continue serving in retirement, Joan joined the Armour Heights team as a part-time Administrative Assistant. In addition to her library leadership experience, she oversaw Information Technology services at Knox College, developing skills that have translated well to her work at Armour Heights. Today, Joan draws on both her administrative and technical experience to support the church's communications, administration, and online ministry, helping people stay connected and engaged in the life of the congregation.

Administrator and Manager of Community Engagement

One of the greatest surprises and transformative gifts Erin has ever received was joining Armour Heights as Administrator in 2016. Since her formative years at Armour Heights working part-time, Erin’s position has evolved and expanded to the full-time role of Administrator and Manager of Community Engagement. Along with her 20 years of administrative/accounting experience and event planning, Erin brings spirited creativity and imagination to all aspects of her work. Erin holds a Master of Music in opera, and her passion for music is only surpassed by her passion for people. When she’s not singing in the choir, or instructing yoga classes, Erin is a part-time student at Emmanuel College pursuing a Master of Psychospiritual Studies (MPS).  Erin is part of the Queer community and proudly proclaims that "God's love includes EVERYONE!"
