Once a month we gather with youth in grades 7-12 for discussion, games and a service-related project. All youth are invited to join us.
Check out our projects below!
Join us on Friday, May 26 from 7-9 PM in the church basement. We will play games, connect and talk about ourselves as Community Leaders. We will also be making Youth in Action keepsakes.
That's it for Youth in Action before we break for the summer BUT Stay Tuned! We have a fun summer outing in the works as well as some new ideas for Fall 2023!*
To honour Earth Day, our Youth in Action crew decorated plant pots then planted discarded vegetable scraps to grow new ones!
We had a special guest - our wonderful Armour Heights admin - who had a blast hanging out and connecting with our youth.
In March, our Youth in Action team put their crafting skills to the test in creating no-sew sock bunnies! These bunnies were given to our toddler crew as Easter gifts.
Our Youth in Action team gathered in February to digitally create postcard designs. They turned out beautifully and we are excited to send them out with Easter Blessings to members of our community.
In January, we put together Valentine inspired Treat Bags and made pink and white fudge to sell at an upcoming service. The proceeds will go towards our Afghan Refugee Sponsorship.
We also did a team relay challenge and played hide & seek in the dark!
In December, we created one-of-a-kind holiday cards to spread cheer to residents of a long term care facility. We also played "large" jenga and sardines on the darkened main floor of the church.
In October, we baked pumpkin donuts and created chocolate covered apple slices to sell at our Bake Sale. Together we raised over $200 for North York Harvest Food Bank.
In September, we gathered to learn more about Truth & Reconciliation.
We then tie dyed our own Orange shirts.
